At Draft, we have multiple ways of ensuring you get a ready-to-use piece and quality controlling our marketplace.

We offer free revisions as well as rewrites from different writers if you're not fully happy.

Our matching algorithm prioritizes having our highest quality writers claim as much of our content as possible. (Their score is based on customer ratings, timeliness, and bandwidth!).

We consistently quality control our marketplace of writers by offboarding any writers with an average rating below 4/5 stars. This is why rating content is so important!

How do you ensure quality content?

If you have one or more Preferred Writers, your jobs will get routed to them first. The benefit of having a Preferred Writer is that they’ll have the chance to learn more about you and become more and more familiar with your business over time.

If you don’t have a Preferred Writer yet

If you don’t have any Preferred Writers yet or if no Preferred Writer is able to claim your job, your jobs are routed to a pool of our top tier writers (4.7 star average and above). If nobody in that pool can pick up your request it will be moved to the general marketplace. We then find the perfect writer for your needs.

We take away all the heavy-lifting of sourcing writers — including vetting, hiring, and managing them. Instead, get matched with your perfect writer faster.

After reviewing the content you have received, make sure you rate that content piece. This helps us understand your preferences and route your future jobs to writers you enjoy working with.

How is a job routed to writers on Draft?

Was there a Draft writer you enjoyed working with? Did you find a writer with the perfect tone and personality and want to maintain uniformity of that writing style?

You can work with the same writers again and again by setting them as your 

! You have the ability to create your very own team of Draft writers to take on your briefs. Under your discretion, you are able to choose which writers to add and how many.  

You can set a preferred writer by clicking the heart icon next to a writer's name within the Job page.

You can set multiple preferred writers to help manage volume and increase the likelihood that you'll get a writer you're happy with.

From there, the writer(s) will be the first to view your job. Please note that it is not a guarantee that preferred writers will take on your requests 100% of the time and they have the discretion to reject work due to bandwidth, illness, vacation, etc. If all of your preferred writers reject your request, your brief will be moved to the marketplace for another writer to complete for you.

To manage your preferred writer team, you can go to My Account > Preferred Writers or click on 

 under the writer's name in the job page.

 this will allow you to set writer(s) as your preferred for 

. This means that you can choose different preferred writers for each client or the same. The choice is up to you!

Can I work with the same writer again?

Looking to provide your writer with additional context on a request? 

Once a content request has been picked up by a writer you'll be able to use our in-app messaging system to send direct messages to the writer. 

The writer will also use this to ask any clarification questions regarding your content request.

Please note, it is against the Draft user policy to request writers to converse through phone or video conferencing.

1. On your Draft dashboard click into a content piece you've requested.

2. To the right of your content brief you'll see a Messaging window.

3. Type in the message you'd like to send to the writer and hit Send Message.

We currently don't support links in this chat. If you'd like to share more sources, briefs, or other materials with your writer, let us know via live chat.

If you receive an email with the writer's message, click through to access your dashboard and respond to their message. Your messages won't be automatically forwarded to the writer if you reply to the email notification.

Be courteous and use a soft tone in your asks. Your writers are human after all!


If anything unreasonable comes up, please loop us in via live chat. 


Avoid sharing any personal details or taking comms outside of the Draft app. Once we lose the thread of convos, we have no way of protecting you if there are issues.
